Thank you to every one of our loyal customers who have come to The Perfect Place to Grow in search of a “perfect” breakfast or “perfect” burger over the last year.

Since opening in May 2025, we’ve been churning out hearty brekkies, learning constantly, and growing alongside our trainees and community.

What we’ve realised is this: Margate is full of amazing cafés making extremely good breakfasts — truly perfect ones — and in the spirit of fluidity, growth, and doing what best suits our trainees, we’ve decided to pivot our offer.

You’ve already been loving our specials board — fresh seasonal salads, soups, stews, hot-pots, and baked tray bakes using ingredients from our kitchen garden, grown with the help of our wonderful volunteers and trainees.

Our counter goods will continue to be packed with ever-changing sweet and savoury favourites, including our now infamous brownies, carrot cake, banana bread, pakoras, galettes, quiche, and more.

We’re leaning further into comforting, nourishing food made to share:

• Big baked dishes like lasagna, moussaka, and shepherd’s pie

• Recipes scribbled on scraps of paper by nans and passed between families

• Seasonal meals shared around our big family table

• Guest chefs from Thanet and beyond bringing their own stories and flavours into the kitchen

Whether you eat in or takeaway, grab a freezer hot-pot for home-heating, or pick up a salad for the beach, we want TPPTG to become a place for wholesome food that fits into real life — breakfast, lunch, dinner, family meals, beach picnics, slow afternoons.

With summer arriving, you’ll be able to combine fresh grain and vegetable salads with hot pots, sandwiches, rice, eggs, or a hunk of bread — finding your own perfect balance.

As part of this shift, we’ll remain open Tuesday–Friday, but our new hours will be: 10am–3pm
